Ladies and Gentleman, tonight is schedule to be a riot. I have spoken with numerous people who will be involved in tonight’s Committee Meeting. There are a lot of claims being made by Committee Members and people who plan to be involved in the meeting tonight.
Unbeknown to many Committee Members, the proceedings will be part of a political documentary, being produced by an associate of Michael Moore and released around the 2008 Presidential elections. I had heard Harry Hurley speak of an anticipated 60 Minutes show, but this documentary might be an even bigger reporting on A.C.’s unique flavor of politics.
Supporters of Mayor “Speedy” plan to attend in droves. They hope to influence Committee Members who are not dead-set on three candidates.
There is confusion about the way the meeting will be conducted. Even the Committee Members are unsure of how they are going to vote and for what number of candidates. Committee Member Gary Hill told us, “The biggest point no one can seem to answer is since [the Committee] must give three names to Council, does each Committee Member get three votes, or one vote? In other words, do the top three winners of the one vote system get it, or can [the Committee] vote for any three people, and the three with the most votes gets it? NO One seems to know.”
We shall know sometime after 7pm tonight. There will be official post-Committee Meeting coverage here at The Atlantic City Scoop.
