Open Public Records Not A Big Deal For Mayor Scott Evans

Mayor Scott Evans does not have Open Public Records as a high priority.  We echo the sentiments of The Press of Atlantic City’s editorial board on 10 March:

Atlantic City Mayor Scott Evans is squandering an opportunity to open up the city’s government after years of back-room dealings that bred mistrust and abuse. Unfortunately, the city has not been alone in its attitude.

I have written to Mayor Scott Evans asking him to begin posting all public records on their web-site.  He has not responded.

  1. Jesse, have you read the comments after that article in the Press’ site? This man from Somerset found in the city ordinances that the violator of the open records ordinance of the city will be fired. I havn’t heard of any firings for this. Odd?! Recent events have council getting a 100,000$ lobbying contract, payoff of one of Langford’s screwup lawsuits with racial overtones, non-payment of the firefighter from the bogus claims of a person who was fired after a “leave” (Atlantic City code for a paid unscheduled vacation), beside the losss of the 10,000$ for the violation of open public records act. What next? Where is Marsh and Langford’s repayment money? What’s up with Gallegher and Miller? The city is imploding!
